Services for Survivors of Domestic Violence

Clackamas Women’s Services (CWS) is a local non-profit agency serving survivors of domestic and sexual violence. CWS provides a 24-hour crisis line, emergency shelter, counseling services, children’s services, transitional housing, legal advocacy, support groups, and community outreach. 24-hour crisis line: 503-654-2288/1-888-654-2288.

The District Attorney’s Office Victim Assistance Program offers services and support to victims of all types of crimes, which includes: a 24-hour crisis line, assistance with protective order applications, information about victim rights (including assistance in filing for Crime Victims Compensation), acting as a liaison between the victim and the prosecutor or law enforcement agency, general information regarding the criminal justice system process, court accompaniment and referrals to community resources. 24-hour crisis line: 503.655.8616.

Los Niños Cuentan is a local non-profit agency providing direct outreach and services to Latina survivors of domestic violence and their families in Clackamas County. Los Niños Cuentan provides legal advocacy, support groups, and community outreach. 503.974.9882 or 503.933.7830.

Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office Domestic Violence Enhanced Response Team (DVERT) works to enhance the safety of domestic violence victims and their children. Through a coordinated response with its Clackamas County partners, DVERT improves domestic violence investigations, prosecution and offender accountability. Domestic Violence Intervention Providers

Domestic Violence Intervention Programs (DVIPs; also called batterer's intervention or abuse intervention) groups provide an accountable and supportive setting for men who have been abusive to understand the role of male socialization, identify the ways they have been abusive or controlling of others, examine and change their beliefs about abuse, and practice acceptable alternatives to abuse. There are also groups available for women who have used abusive behavior at most of the agencies listed below.

Abuse Recovery Ministry & Services (ARMS) is a non-profit, faith based agency providing services for both victims and those who use abusive behaviors, as well as providing youth education. 503-846-9284 /866-262-9284.

Bridges to Safety was developed out of a desire to provide Domestic Violence Intervention services for those who abuse with a clear focus on the safety of victims, especially the victimization of women and children. Choices DVIP utilizes motivational interviewing, utilizes a competency- based curriculum, and is an evidence-based program. 503-239-7597.

ChangePoint provides a domestic violence intervention program in Clackamas County designed to help men who have a history of violence and abuse associated with their intimate relationships. The key elements of program are education, attitude and belief change, mutual respect and equality, substance abuse treatment, parenting, and assistance to partners/family. 503-253-5954. 

MEPS Counseling Services provides batterers intervention treatment for men and women. The program was designed to explore and deconstruct the pro-abuse beliefs that lead to power and control issues with clients. MEPs also houses the Combat and Domestic Readjustment & Education (C.A.D.R.E.) Program. C.A.D.R.E. combines MEPs treatment protocol for abuse intervention with the Veteran’s Administration’s treatment protocol for combat Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. 503-260-3458.
